- Household income must be at or below 80% of area median income (HUD AMI) for the household size.
- The home must be located in a census tract designated as a disadvantaged community per CalEnviroScreen.
- The home must be served by PG&E, SCE, SDG&E, or Bear Valley Electric Service.
- The roof must be in good condition or replaceable; some installer-funded roof support may be available.
How to apply
DAC-SASH applications are handled by GRID Alternatives, the CPUC-approved program administrator. Begin the eligibility check on the GRID Alternatives website. The organization will verify income, geographic eligibility, and home suitability before scheduling installation.
How it’s funded
DAC-SASH is funded through the Public Purpose Programs surcharge on utility bills and allocated through CPUC rulemaking. The program operates as part of California’s broader effort to ensure that the benefits of the clean-energy transition reach historically underserved communities.
